Ate Marielle (siya/she)
Middle School Program Leader
How long have you been part of FEC GB?
Around one year as middle school staff. In the summer of 2014, I interned for FEC GB as a high schooler.
Paano kayo nagsimula sa FEC GB / how did you start?
I interned when I was in high school through MYEEP (Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program).
What is one memorable experience you have at FEC Galing Bata?
End of the Summer Celebration!
How has being part of FEC GB touched your life? Who and why do you do this work for?
Being a part of FEC GB made me realized that there are a lot of Filipinos that I have not met yet. It made me want to push myself to work harder to help the students to achieve their goals, and guide them on to their future endeavors. I do this work because I liked sharing my knowledge to other people.
I also grew up with a mindset that helping others are rewarding to your soul, so I try to apply that to my work.
What is one wish you have for FEC GB Program?
To continue growing as a whole and to be part of the SOMA community, for the GB parents and youth.
